URGENT UPDATE: Mid-Missouri motorists are advised to brace for significant travel disruptions from December 1-7 due to extensive roadwork across multiple counties. This construction involves culvert replacements, bridge rehabilitations, and upgrades to pedestrian facilities, which will likely result in lane closures and prolonged delays.

Drivers should exercise heightened caution in work zones, particularly on Boone County’s Route 124 and Callaway County’s Routes E and J, where flagger-controlled single-lane traffic will be in effect. In Columbia, improvements on Route TT are ongoing, with completion expected by the end of November, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Commuters on I-70 should prepare for long-term impacts as part of the ongoing “Improve I-70 Program,” which is set to extend through 2027. In Cole County, U.S. Route 50 will undergo pedestrian upgrades, leading to potential right-turn lane closures from Broadway, Jefferson, and Monroe streets between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on weekdays.

Additionally, U.S. Route 63 will see a reroute at the Route AC (Grindstone Parkway) interchange while Lenoir Street remains closed. This work is expected to wrap up by early December 2025. Daily lane restrictions for maintenance and culvert replacements will also be implemented in Laclede, Maries, and Morgan counties, where motorists can expect single-lane travel and delays.

Authorities are urging all drivers to plan ahead and allow extra travel time during this period. Stay informed about the latest updates as road conditions change. Your safety is paramount, so please drive carefully around construction zones.
