San Jose Woman Arrested for Murder in Fatal Hit-and-Run

UPDATE: A 34-year-old San Jose woman has been arrested for murder following a fatal hit-and-run that unfolded just before 7:30 p.m. on Sunday night. Authorities confirm that the incident occurred at the intersection of Winchester Boulevard and Tisch Way, marking a tragic event in the city’s escalating violence this year.

According to San Jose police, the suspect, identified as Yanette Beas Solorio, was involved in an intentional collision that left a pedestrian critically injured. Emergency medical personnel rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The identity of the victim is pending release by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office once next of kin notifications are complete.

Police Sgt. Jorge Garibay stated in a news release that preliminary investigations indicate the collision was no accident, but rather an intentional act. The exact motive behind this shocking event is still under investigation, with authorities working diligently to uncover further details.

Yanette Beas Solorio was apprehended approximately two miles from the scene of the incident in Santa Clara. She is currently being held without bail at the Main Jail in San Jose, facing serious charges including murder.

This incident marks the 24th homicide in San Jose this year, a stark increase compared to 29 homicides recorded at the same time last year. The community is reeling from this latest act of violence, prompting urgent calls for safety measures and public awareness.
