UPDATE: Dunwoody, Georgia, has just been recognized as one of the top 10 cities in the 2025 Digital Cities Survey, an honor announced by the Center for Digital Government (CDG). This prestigious accolade highlights Dunwoody’s innovative use of technology in public service, focusing on enhancing cybersecurity, transparency, and digital equity.

The award, presented during the National League of Cities “City Summit” in Salt Lake City, underscores Dunwoody’s commitment to improving community engagement and public safety. With a population of 51,844, the city emerged as a standout among urban areas with populations of up to 75,000.

Teri Takai, Chief Programs Officer at the CDG, emphasized the importance of the award, stating,

“What stands out this year isn’t just the technology, it’s the focus on the impact on constituent services.”

She highlighted how cities like Dunwoody are utilizing technology to address pressing issues such as housing stability, public safety, and community trust.

Dunwoody’s digital advancements include the launch of an open checkbook and an online records portal, which streamline service requests through platforms like SeeClickFix. The city has also enhanced communication with residents via new digital signage and various outreach methods.

Public safety measures have been revolutionized in Dunwoody with the establishment of the Real-Time Crime Center. This cutting-edge facility integrates data from sources like Flock Safety drones and Live911, improving situational awareness and emergency response times. Technology Director Ginger LePage expressed her pride in the recognition, stating,

“Being recognized nationally affirms that our efforts are making a difference here at home.”

Dunwoody’s IT infrastructure has undergone a remarkable transformation, with a major network overhaul and a transition to cloud-based systems. This modernization ensures uninterrupted services across multiple departments. City Manager Eric Linton stated,

“This award highlights how our commitment to innovation directly strengthens services for our residents.”
