Fairfield Man Charged with Child Sexual Abuse Material in Raid

URGENT UPDATE: A Fairfield man is now facing serious felony charges after a dramatic multi-agency raid uncovered evidence of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) at his home. Authorities launched the operation early on the morning of October 24, 2023, serving a search warrant at a residence on the 2000 block of Fairfield Avenue around 7:00 a.m.

Detectives from the Solano County Sheriff’s Office were joined by the Sheriff’s Enforcement Team, as well as officers from Vacaville PD and Benicia PD, in what has been described as part of an ongoing investigation. The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Matthew Rios, was arrested at the scene as authorities seized multiple electronic devices that are now subject to forensic examination.

Rios is currently held at the Solano County Justice Center Detention Facility on a $25,000 bail. He faces a felony charge for possession of CSAM, a serious offense that underscores the urgent need for action against child exploitation.
