BREAKING: Community leader and beloved family man, Harold (Hal) Warren, has passed away at the age of 87. He died peacefully on November 29, 2025, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication to his community.

Harold Warren was born on July 9, 1938, in Camden, NJ. He graduated from Morristown High School in 1957 and served for eight years in the Army National Guard. His professional career included significant roles at Bell Telephone Laboratories in Holmdel, NJ, and as a manager at GTE Data Services in Johnstown, NY. Warren also devoted 18 years to the City of Johnstown as a firefighter, showcasing his commitment to public service.

In 1971, he founded the Johnstown Area Volunteer Ambulance Corp (JAVAC), which has played a crucial role in emergency response throughout the area. His passion for music and theater led him to actively participate in local organizations, including the Colonial Little Theater and The Galway Players. He also inspired young musicians as a percussion instructor at the Oppenheim Ephratah School.

Harold is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Dawn Warren, and their children: Leslie (Rick) Garber, Heather (Jack) Hladik, and Lindsay Warren. He leaves behind a treasured family, including grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will remember him for his kindness and dedication.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Nathan Littauer Nursing Home and the SCU at Nathan Littauer Hospital for their compassionate care during Harold’s final days.

As per the family’s request, there will be no services. However, a Celebration of Life is planned for Spring 2026. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Brennan Humane Society or the Fulton County Regional SPCA in Harold’s memory.

This news comes as the community reflects on the profound impact Harold Warren had on countless lives. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Stay tuned for updates on the Celebration of Life event and how to honor his memory.
