Firearms Discovered in Vehicle at Lewiston Porter High School

URGENT UPDATE: Two shotguns were discovered inside a vehicle parked at Lewiston Porter High School in Youngstown, NY, on October 12, 2023. According to Lewiston Police, the firearms were left in the vehicle by accident, and authorities have confirmed there is no threat to the school community.
Police K9 units, including those from the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, Erie County Sheriff’s Office, and North Tonawanda Police, conducted a thorough search of the school on Thursday. A K9 alerted officers to the presence of the two shotguns, prompting an immediate investigation.
