Pleasant Weather Returns to Utah This Weekend After Storms
UPDATE: Pleasant weather is finally here in Utah after a tumultuous week of rain and storms. As of Friday, October 20, 2023, high pressure is pushing through, promising warmer and drier conditions across the state.
Temperatures this morning are starting off cold, with valleys at a brisk 30s to low 40s and higher terrains in the 20s. However, as the sun breaks through the clouds, expect a significant warm-up, with daytime highs reaching the upper 50s to low 60s in most areas. Mountain valleys will see a high of around 50 degrees, while southern spots might soar to the mid 60s to low 70s.
This weekend promises to be a breath of fresh air! Saturday and Sunday will feature sunny skies and temperatures climbing into the 60s to low 70s. Sunday, in particular, is expected to be the warmest day, with highs hitting the upper 60s to low 70s in the valleys and mid to upper 70s in warmer regions.
For sports fans, those attending the highly anticipated University of Utah vs. BYU game on Saturday can look forward to clear skies and cool temperatures in the 50s. Just a light jacket will suffice!
However, keep an eye on the forecast as a new system is anticipated to move in from the northwest. While it appears that most of the moisture will stay to the north, some showers may affect the northernmost areas of the state from Sunday night into Monday morning. This quick-moving system will usher in cooler air, dropping highs from the 70s on Sunday to the 50s on Monday.
Stay tuned for the latest updates from our 4Warn Weather team. We will continue to provide real-time updates both on-air and online. Enjoy this beautiful weekend, Utah, and make the most of the pleasant weather!
