New London Man Convicted of Carjacking, Faces 2026 Sentencing
BREAKING: A New London man has been found guilty on multiple charges related to a dramatic carjacking incident that occurred in 2023. 32-year-old Victor Hall was convicted on January 12, 2024, of first-degree robbery, third-degree robbery, second-degree larceny, larceny of a motor vehicle, and criminal possession of a firearm, according to the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice.
The jury’s decision comes as a significant development in a case that began on March 10, 2023, when officers from the New London Police Department responded to a report of a carjacking. The urgency escalated as the Waterford Police Department spotted a vehicle matching the stolen car’s description and attempted to pull it over. Hall, identified as the driver, led officers on a dangerous pursuit, which ended when he crashed the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. He was quickly apprehended, with police recovering a firearm from the area.
Paul J. Narducci, State’s Attorney for the New London Judicial District, expressed gratitude toward the collaborative effort of local police departments and the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services, highlighting their vital role in resolving this case.
The presiding judge, Elizabeth C. Leaming, has set Hall’s sentencing for January 28, 2026, in New London Superior Court. This conviction sends a strong message about the seriousness of gun-related crimes and carjackings, emphasizing public safety concerns.
As this case unfolds, communities are urged to stay alert and report suspicious activities to law enforcement. The implications of Hall’s actions resonate deeply, reminding residents of the potential dangers on the streets.
Stay tuned for updates as the sentencing date approaches and further developments are expected.
