Urgent Call for Violence Against ICE Agents at Chicago Protest
UPDATE: A shocking incident unfolded at the “No Kings” protest in Chicago, Illinois, where a protester publicly called for violence against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. In a disturbing video captured by Christopher Sweat, the activist urged supporters to “grab a gun” and eliminate ICE agents, branding them a part of a “fascist system.”
The protester’s inflammatory remarks, made while standing in front of a Progressive Labor Party sign, have raised alarms nationwide. “You gotta grab a gun, we gotta turn around the guns on this fascist system,” he shouted. “These ICE agents gotta get shot and wiped out!”
As tensions escalate, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reports that assaults against ICE agents have surged an alarming 1000% since the reinstatement of the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration. In September, three women faced indictment for live-streaming their visit to an ICE agent’s residence, highlighting the increasing danger faced by federal agents.
The “No Kings” protest movement claims to have mobilized 7 million Americans across 2,700 protests in major U.S. cities, aiming to challenge what they describe as authoritarianism. Their official stance is that the nation will not succumb to “fear, force, or one man’s power grab,” as outlined on their website.
The atmosphere at these protests has grown increasingly hostile. In Seattle, a protester expressed a desire to kill White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, Stephen Miller, while another protester in Portland, Maine, called reading Trump’s obituary a “wonderful birthday present.” Such sentiments underscore the growing animosity directed at administration officials.
Despite the calls for violence, organizers insist that the movement is centered around rejecting dictatorial governance, although instances of threats and aggressive rhetoric continue to emerge. Activists are urged to reflect on the potential repercussions of their words as they rally against perceived injustices.
The situation remains fluid, and authorities are closely monitoring these protests for further developments. As protests continue, the public is urged to stay informed and aware of any escalations.
