BREAKING: New details about the anticipated remake of Resident Evil 0 have just emerged, sparking excitement among fans. The project, tentatively titled Project Chamber, is reportedly set for a 2028 release window. This news comes from sources close to MP1st, who have revealed intriguing insights into the game’s development.

The working title, Project Chamber, is believed to reference protagonist Rebecca Chambers, with the plot taking place just before her arrival at the iconic Spencer Mansion featured in the original Resident Evil. According to reports, the name first appeared on the resume of actor Jon McLaren, known for his role as Star-Lord in Square Enix’s Guardians of the Galaxy. However, this entry has since been removed, prompting caution in interpreting this information.

Motion capture for the remake is being conducted at Beyond Capture Studios, a company with a history of collaboration with Capcom on previous titles, including Street Fighter 6 and the Resident Evil 4 remake. While McLaren’s exact role remains unclear, speculation suggests he may portray Billy Coen, the joint protagonist of Resident Evil 0.

Insider DuskGolem has provided further context, indicating that the remake will introduce new characters, enhancing the storyline. Notably, the game begins with a train crash amid a zombie outbreak. One of the new characters is a train conductor who, reportedly, will lock Rebecca in a room filled with zombies to facilitate his own escape. This addition is expected to heighten the game’s tension and horror elements.

The timeline for Resident Evil 0 fans looks promising, as DuskGolem hints that the next remake, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, may arrive as early as Q1 2027. This places it just a year after the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem, heightening anticipation for the franchise’s future releases.

With every modern Resident Evil game reportedly set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2, including the much-hyped Requiem, fans have plenty to look forward to. Capcom’s continued dedication to expanding the lore and gameplay mechanics of the franchise ensures that both new and returning players will have engaging experiences.

As the gaming community eagerly awaits official announcements, the buzz surrounding Project Chamber and its potential for an expanded narrative could redefine how fans perceive the Resident Evil universe. Keep an eye out for more updates as developments unfold!
