JetBlue Expands Domestic Routes with Longest Flights Across U.S.
JetBlue Airways is enhancing its domestic service by operating six internal routes within the United States that exceed a distance of 2,500 miles. As the airline continues to strengthen its international network, particularly with new transatlantic flights, domestic routes remain a significant focus. The longest of these flights connects Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) with San Francisco International Airport (SFO), covering a distance of 2,704 miles (4,351.7 km).
According to scheduling data from Cirium, an aviation analytics company, JetBlue has scheduled 149 outbound and 148 inbound flights for this route in October 2025. Passengers can expect between three and six round trips daily, primarily operated by Airbus A321-200 aircraft featuring 143 economy and 16 business class seats. Some flights utilize the A321LR model, which offers 24 business and 114 economy seats. At the route’s launch in 2007, SFO Airport Director John Martin praised JetBlue for its commitment to customer service.
Other Long-Distance Transcontinental Routes
All three of JetBlue’s longest domestic routes originate from Boston Logan Airport. Following the San Francisco route, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the next most distant destination, located 2,611 miles (4,202 km) from Boston. This month, JetBlue has planned 142 outbound and 141 inbound flights, operating three to five times daily. Most of these flights are also on Airbus A321-200s, which feature 16 Mint business class seats arranged in a staggered configuration. A couple of westbound flights utilize the A321LR, offering a different layout for the Mint Suites.
The third-longest domestic route connects Boston with San Diego International Airport (SAN), recognized as the busiest single-runway airport in the United States. JetBlue has scheduled 89 round trips from Boston this month, with flights typically operated three times daily. This route spans 2,588 miles (4,165 km) and is predominantly served by A321-200 aircraft, some of which feature all-economy configurations with 200 seats.
Routes from New York and Florida
JetBlue also operates significant routes from New York’s JFK Airport, which rank as the fourth and sixth longest domestic flights. The fourth route connects JFK with San Francisco, measuring 2,586 miles (4,161.8 km), with flights scheduled four to six times daily on A321-200s. The fifth longest route originates from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to San Francisco, covering 2,583 miles (4,156.9 km) and operating twice daily throughout October.
The sixth route links JFK with Sacramento International Airport (SMF) and spans 2,500 miles (4,023 km). This route is served exclusively by JetBlue’s all-economy A321-200s, which offer 200 seats, including 42 ‘Even More Space’ seats with a generous 37-inch pitch. JetBlue operated this route daily until October 25.
As JetBlue continues to enhance its domestic offerings, these long-distance routes highlight its commitment to providing extensive and competitive travel options across the United States.
