UPDATE: Multiple tornadoes have wreaked havoc across the southern United States, with severe thunderstorms impacting Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama this morning. The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado near Pascagoula, Mississippi, at 9:20 a.m. local time, causing damage to homes and businesses.

Eyewitness reports indicate the tornado touched down just two miles from Gautier, with significant destruction evident at local establishments like the Aztecas Restaurant & Cantina. Video footage captured the moment the tornado struck, showing severe roof damage and destruction to vehicles in the parking lot.

In addition, another tornado was spotted near Orange Beach, Alabama, creating a rain-wrapped hazard that alarmed residents. Videos shared on social media illustrate the intensity of the storms, with one clip showing a tornado hovering dangerously close to parked cars.

The violent weather system has also resulted in widespread power outages across parts of Texas, further exacerbating conditions in the region. As the storms continue to develop, areas along the Gulf Coast, including Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida, are now under urgent tornado warnings.

BREAKING: The severe weather system is expected to contribute to a significant Halloween storm impacting the East Coast later this week. Meteorologists from FOX Weather report that this system will trigger rain from the Carolinas to the Northeast on Thursday and Friday. While models indicate heavy precipitation, it remains too early to determine the full scope of the storm’s impact.

As this situation develops, authorities urge residents in affected areas to stay alert and follow safety protocols. With the potential for additional severe weather, including more tornadoes, the public is advised to monitor updates from the National Weather Service and local emergency management agencies.

Stay tuned for further updates as we follow this rapidly evolving situation.
