Hikvision Launches Installer Partner Initiative for Social Good

On October 22, 2025, Hikvision marked the fifth anniversary of its STAR Program for Social Good by launching a new initiative aimed at expanding its impact on communities worldwide. The Installer Partner Initiative invites skilled installers to contribute their expertise to various social good projects, enhancing the reach and effectiveness of the program.

The STAR Program, which stands for “Sustainability through Technology, Actions for Responsibility,” has been integral to Hikvision’s commitment to sustainability since its inception on October 23, 2020. This initiative aims to leverage artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (AIoT) technologies to assist non-profit organizations in finding innovative solutions to benefit societies, ecosystems, and cultural heritage.

Over the past five years, Hikvision has collaborated with over 30 non-profits across 14 countries. These partnerships have focused on addressing challenges in various sectors, including environmental protection and community development. Notably, Hikvision’s collaboration with the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research showcased the technological complexities involved in their projects, such as the monitoring of glacial lakes in the Himalayas, where teams faced harsh weather conditions while installing equipment.

Despite the successes, Hikvision recognized that many non-governmental organizations (NGOs) lack the necessary installation expertise to effectively deploy their technologies. According to Merida Shen, the initiator of the STAR Program for Social Good, “Although some NGOs can rely on their IT teams to install cameras, most of them still lack this professional skill.” This gap motivated the launch of the Installer Partner Initiative, designed to attract global installers who possess not only technical skills but also a commitment to social responsibility.

The initiative encourages installer partners to join Hikvision in its mission to create a positive societal impact. By participating, these partners can enhance their capabilities while contributing to meaningful projects that have the potential to transform local communities.
