UPDATE: A shooting incident during a police pursuit led to a dramatic collision on I-280 in Orange, New Jersey, just before 3:00 PM on Sunday. State police are currently investigating the scene, where an Acura collided with a black Mercedes near Exit 11 westbound.

Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots exchanged between the Acura and pursuing state police. “I was picking up delivery and then I came through here and I just heard a bunch of sirens, tires squealing… and then there was a slight collision, and then I just heard gunshots, like rapid amounts of gunshots,” said witness Zach McDowell.

Tragically, shell casings from the gunfire penetrated the Acura. Reports indicate that the driver of the Mercedes was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, with children in the vehicle at the time of the incident. They were taken to a local hospital, though no updates on their condition have been provided.
