Three local football teams are competing this weekend, each just one victory away from advancing to the state semifinals. Summit High School and Mountain View will host their Class 5A quarterfinal matches on November 14, 2025, while Culver will embark on a road trip to face their opponent in the 2A quarterfinals on November 15, 2025.

Summit, the top-seeded team in the 5A classification with an impressive record of 10-0, seeks to maintain their undefeated season against No. 9 West Albany, who holds a record of 7-3. Their matchup will take place at 19:00 at Summit High School. A victory for the Storm would mark their third appearance in the state semifinals in the last four years, with their last semifinal run occurring in 2023. The winner of this contest will advance to meet the victor of the matchup between No. 5 Thurston and No. 13 Churchill the following week at a neutral site.

Mountain View, ranked No. 3 with a record of 9-1, will also host a quarterfinal game against No. 6 Dallas, who comes in at 7-3. Their clash will kick off at 19:00 on the same night at Jack Harris Stadium. This marks the third consecutive year that Mountain View has hosted a quarterfinal match, and they have successfully advanced each time after winning their final home game of the season. A win would also signify a milestone for head coach Brian Crum, as it would be his 98th victory, surpassing the previous record held by Clyde Powell, the school’s inaugural football coach.

In the 2A playoffs, Culver, seeded No. 11 with a record of 9-1, will travel over 275 miles to face No. 3 Bandon, who remains undefeated at 9-0. This game is set for 14:00 on November 15, 2025. Culver achieved a significant upset in the first round by defeating No. 6 Santiam, and another win would secure their first trip to the state semifinals since 2008. The winner of the Culver versus Bandon game will advance to meet the winner of the matchup between No. 2 Lost River and No. 10 Myrtle Point the following weekend in the 2A semifinals.

With high stakes and local pride on the line, the upcoming games promise to be thrilling encounters for fans and players alike. Each team is poised to demonstrate their skills and determination as they strive for a place in the next round of the postseason.
