BREAKING: A New Jersey moving company, Noble Moving and Storage, is under investigation amid alarming allegations of fraud. Following a consumer investigation by 7 On Your Side, multiple customers have come forward claiming they were pressured into signing contracts with inflated prices, often exceeding their initial estimates.

Authorities in Fairfield, New Jersey, have confirmed they are looking into these complaints. The investigation began after police reached out to Nina Pineda for assistance in alerting consumers about potential scams linked to the company. “We had somebody call us that’s very close to your company and tell us that you are guilty of doing the same thing that you were charged with in 2019,” Pineda told Farah Al-Ibrahim, the company’s president.

In 2019, Al-Ibrahim pled guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud while working for other moving companies, where she allegedly low-balled estimates only to hike prices on the day of the move. New sources now claim she is continuing this practice at Noble Moving, with customers reporting shocking price increases.

A distressed customer from Brooklyn shared her experience: “When they showed up, it went to $21,000. I think it was straight-up extortion,” said Melissa, highlighting the rising concern among clients. Reports indicate that customers from across the country are falling victim to similar tactics, with some stating they were charged an additional $8,000 or more than their original quotes.

In a recent meeting with customers, 7 On Your Side documented claims that the company’s lowball pricing strategy is part of a broader scheme orchestrated by Al-Ibrahim. An anonymous source described her as “the ringleader,” alleging that employees are trained to lure customers with attractive estimates, only to spring exorbitant fees at the last minute. “That’s exactly what’s happening. That’s fact,” the source affirmed.

Fairfield Police have indicated that the pattern of complaints has led them to take this case seriously. “The pattern is what makes it become criminal and that allows us to get involved on the police side,” stated Stacy Chiarolanza from the Fairfield PD.

Despite these allegations, Noble’s owner, Joe Hannouch, who is also Al-Ibrahim’s husband, has denied any wrongdoing, attributing the price increases to customer miscalculations regarding their moving needs. However, customers remain adamant that their estimates were vastly underestimated, with one stating, “We paid $18,000 unexpectedly.”

The Department of Transportation is also keeping a close eye on the situation, confirming that Noble Moving is under investigation for potentially deceptive practices, including providing “low-ball” estimates to attract customers.

As the situation develops, customers who chose Noble Moving due to its initially low quotes are now speaking out. “They got me for about $8,000,” said Nate Wheatley, underscoring the financial strain these unexpected charges have caused.

While Al-Ibrahim initially declined to comment, she later stated, “I’m not even in moving anymore,” distancing herself from the latest allegations. However, a corporate filing from May 2025 reveals that she is still listed as the president of the company, raising further questions about her involvement.

If you are considering using a moving company, experts advise caution. “If they demand money either before or after loading up your stuff or show up in a rental truck, be aware,” Pineda warned. Research and obtain multiple estimates to avoid falling victim to potentially fraudulent practices.
