Urgent Recall: Infant Botulism Case Linked to ByHeart Formula

UPDATE: A serious case of suspected infant botulism has emerged in Pierce County, Washington, potentially linked to the newly recalled ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula. A local infant is currently receiving urgent medical treatment following consumption of the formula, raising alarm as health officials confirm this case is part of a troubling outbreak affecting at least 23 cases across 13 states since August.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a critical warning for parents, urging them to stop using any recalled formula immediately. Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported thus far, but the situation is rapidly evolving, and families need to remain vigilant.

Infant botulism symptoms can range from mild constipation to severe paralysis, making it critical for healthcare professionals to be consulted without delay. This outbreak is particularly worrying as Washington typically sees only about four cases of infant botulism annually, primarily affecting infants under six months old.
