Boston Faces Wind Gusts Up to 40 MPH as Chilly Weather Hits
UPDATE: Boston is bracing for a blustery day as wind gusts reach up to 40 mph, creating potentially hazardous conditions. The National Weather Service warns residents to prepare for a windy and chilly day, with temperatures only peaking around 53 degrees.
The winds are already causing slippery conditions due to morning rain and light sleet, particularly on wet leaves, according to Boston 25 News. The strongest gusts may hit 38 mph, making travel treacherous. Residents are advised to exercise caution, especially if driving or walking outdoors.
A brief rain shower or light snow is also possible today, but authorities expect any accumulation to be minimal. Looking ahead, mostly sunny days are forecasted for the coming week, although mornings will remain cold, with temperatures dipping below freezing.
Starting Monday, Boston will enjoy mostly sunny skies, although gusty winds will persist. Wind speeds are anticipated to decrease by Tuesday and Wednesday, with daytime highs midweek reaching around 46 degrees. Evening temperatures will drop to the low 30s, necessitating warm clothing for those venturing out.
As the week progresses, a new weather system is developing that could bring rain from Friday into Saturday. The chance of rain on Friday is 60%, tapering to 50% Friday evening. Saturday may see scattered showers amidst partly sunny skies, with a 40% chance of rain. This forecast marks a significant shift from the predominantly dry and windy weather experienced earlier in the week.
Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant as these weather conditions unfold, and to stay updated with reliable sources like the National Weather Service for the latest updates. Share this information with friends and family to keep everyone informed and safe.
