CINCINNATI, Ohio — The Cincinnati Bengals have officially activated tight end Mike Gesicki to participate in practice after a stint on injured reserve. The announcement, made on Wednesday, reveals that Gesicki has been given a 21-day window to return to full participation following a pectoral injury sustained during a 27-18 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 6.

Gesicki, who was placed on injured reserve on October 15, 2023, has managed eight receptions for 64 yards in six games this season. The 30-year-old veteran enjoyed a successful first season with the Bengals in 2022, recording 65 catches for 665 yards and two touchdowns. In March, the team secured Gesicki’s services with a three-year contract extension worth $25.5 million.

Additional Player Updates

In conjunction with Gesicki’s activation, the Bengals also announced that safety Daijahn Anthony has entered his 21-day practice window. Anthony, a seventh-round draft pick from the 2024 NFL Draft, has yet to play this season after being placed on injured reserve on August 26, 2023, due to a hamstring injury. Both players can practice with the team without affecting the active 53-man roster and can be activated at any point during this period.

This development comes at a crucial time for the Bengals, who are looking to bolster their offensive lineup as the season progresses. With Gesicki’s return, the team hopes to regain momentum and improve their performance on the field.

As the Bengals prepare for their next game, the potential reintroduction of key players like Gesicki and Anthony could prove vital in their quest for success in the remainder of the season.
