Community Mourns the Passing of Willadean Mae De Franco, 1941-2025

Willadean Mae De Franco, born on 1941 in Pomona, California, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2025, with her family by her side. She is remembered fondly by her husband of 66 years, Kirk DeFranco Sr, and their three sons, Kirk DeFranco Jr. (Patricia), Christopher DeFranco, and Dana DeFranco (Chonna). Willadean’s legacy includes eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her vibrant spirit.

Willadean is preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Leona Galbreath, and her sister, Nora Galbreath. She is survived by her siblings: Eileen Duarte of Santa Barbara, California, Dawn Jeffus (Gary) of Donnelly, Idaho, and Scott Galbreath (Karolyn) of Pomona.

Life and Legacy in Willits

In 1979, Willadean and her family moved to Willits, California, where she became a familiar face in the community. Her career included positions at the historic Brooktrails Lodge, Rexall Drugs, and the Bank of Willits. Willadean was well-known for her outgoing personality and infectious laughter, which brightened the days of those around her.

An avid visitor of local casinos, Willadean enjoyed the social interactions and connections she formed with staff and fellow patrons. Her love for life and the people she encountered made a lasting impression on her community.
