Chris Patullo Takes on Expanded Role at American Crystal Sugar
Chris Patullo has accepted an expanded position as Director of Operations at the American Crystal Sugar Company. In this new role, he will lead production and maintenance operations across the company’s facilities in Moorhead, Hillsboro, Crookston, East Grand Forks, and Drayton. His responsibilities include ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of high-quality sugar and agricultural products while adhering to all regulatory requirements.
Patullo’s leadership will not only focus on daily operations but also encompass strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing process improvements and executing capital projects. These efforts are designed to boost operational performance and support the company’s long-term growth objectives.
Background and Experience
Chris Patullo brings more than 22 years of experience with American Crystal, having joined the company in 2003. He has previously served as Factory Manager at the Crookston, Hillsboro, and Drayton facilities. His career also includes roles as Production Superintendent, Process Engineer, and Factory Engineer.
Patullo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota Duluth and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Dakota. His extensive background in engineering and management equips him well for the challenges of his new role.

American Crystal Sugar Company is the largest beet sugar producer in the United States and operates as a grower-owned cooperative. Its facilities in Moorhead, Crookston, and East Grand Forks, Minnesota, along with those in Hillsboro and Drayton, North Dakota, play a crucial role in the regional economy and agricultural sector.
