UPDATE: The Denver Nuggets face a significant setback as forward Aaron Gordon has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 right hamstring strain, sidelining him for at least four to six weeks. The injury occurred during the Nuggets’ road victory against the Houston Rockets on November 10, 2023, and was confirmed following an MRI conducted on November 11.

This injury is a critical blow for the Nuggets, who are already missing another starter, Christian Braun, due to an ankle sprain that will keep him out for at least six weeks after getting injured on November 12. With Gordon averaging a career-high 18.8 points and a 44.4% 3-point shooting percentage this season, his absence will put immense pressure on the team’s depth.

Gordon made headlines earlier this season by scoring a remarkable 50 points in the opening game against the Golden State Warriors, becoming one of just six players to achieve such a feat in a season opener. The Nuggets, currently sporting a 12-4 record, sit second in the Western Conference standings, trailing only the Oklahoma City Thunder at 16-1.

The Nuggets’ roster depth will be tested as they look to fill the void left by Gordon. Fourth-year forward Peyton Watson is expected to step up, along with recent acquisitions such as Cam Johnson, Bruce Brown, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Jonas Valanciunas.

Gordon has a history of dealing with hamstring issues, having played through a Grade 2 left hamstring strain during last season’s Western Conference semifinals. As the Nuggets prepare for upcoming games, fans will be watching closely to see how the team adapts to these challenges.

The immediate future looks uncertain, but the Nuggets remain optimistic about their depth and ability to compete despite the injuries. As the situation develops, all eyes will be on how the team transforms during this critical stretch of the season.
