Wisconsin Woman Who Stabbed Classmate Goes Missing After Cutting GPS

URGENT UPDATE: A Wisconsin woman, Morgan Geyser, who was convicted of a brutal stabbing to appease the fictional character Slender Man, is now missing after cutting off her electronic monitoring device and leaving a group home. Authorities confirmed Geyser, now 23 years old, was last seen at approximately 8 p.m. Saturday with an adult acquaintance.

Madison police have issued an alert urging the public to report any sightings of Geyser immediately by calling 911. The alert highlights the fact that she removed a “Department of Corrections monitoring bracelet” prior to her disappearance, raising serious concerns for her immediate safety.

Geyser was granted conditional release from the Winnebago Mental Health Institute earlier this year. She was originally committed to the facility in 2018 after pleading guilty to attempted first-degree intentional homicide, a charge stemming from a horrifying incident in 2014. At just 12 years old, Geyser, alongside her friend Anissa Weier, lured their classmate Payton Leutner to a suburban Milwaukee park after a sleepover. In a shocking act of violence, Geyser stabbed Leutner more than a dozen times while Weier encouraged her actions. Remarkably, Leutner survived the attack.

The girls later told investigators that they believed they were required to commit the stabbing to become loyal servants of Slender Man, fearing that he would harm their families if they failed. Slender Man, a character created online by Eric Knudson in 2009, has since become a notorious figure in internet folklore, manifesting in various media including video games and films.

Weier also faced legal consequences for her role in the attack, pleading guilty to attempted second-degree intentional homicide. She was also placed in a psychiatric facility and was released in 2021.

As authorities continue to search for Geyser, there is heightened concern regarding her mental health and safety. The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any information that could assist in locating her.
