eSleuth Inc., an innovative company specializing in AI-driven investigative tools for law enforcement, has appointed Smita Nair as its new Senior Vice President of Software Engineering. This announcement was made on November 26, 2025, as the company seeks to expand its engineering division and enhance its technology offerings to meet increasing demand from law enforcement agencies across the United States.

Nair brings over two decades of expertise in developing complex software solutions, having previously served as Senior Vice President of Software Engineering at Pivot Systems. She also held a significant role at SoundThinking, where she successfully guided engineering teams during a period of considerable growth and multiple acquisitions. Her career includes positions at major technology firms such as eBay, Cisco Systems, and HP, where she focused on high-performance technologies deployed on a global scale.

Robert Batty, CEO of eSleuth, expressed confidence in Nair’s leadership abilities, stating, “Smita’s depth of experience in large-scale systems and her leadership in high-growth environments make her an ideal fit for eSleuth’s mission. Her guidance will be instrumental as we continue delivering cutting-edge AI applications that help law enforcement investigators solve more cases, faster.”

Nair’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for eSleuth, as the demand for efficient investigative tools continues to rise. The company’s platform leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning to automate police best practices, quickly surfacing investigative leads. This technology is specifically designed for real-world casework, enabling investigators to evaluate evidence, identify suspects, and update leads as new information arises.

The platform’s key features include the eSleuth PFM AI, which generates case-specific task lists and real-time alerts as data evolves. Additionally, the company offers cross-case association technology that connects unsolved violent crimes and homicides, revealing patterns that traditional methods often miss. The eSleuth Solvability Matrix ranks unsolved cases based on their likelihood of resolution, drawing insights from thousands of resolved investigations. These capabilities allow law enforcement agencies to optimize their limited resources and accelerate case closures.

Nair expressed her enthusiasm for joining eSleuth at a significant moment for both the company and the law enforcement sector. “The platform is redefining what’s possible in investigations, and I’m excited to help scale the technology and teams behind it,” she stated.

Her academic background includes an MBA in Marketing, Finance, and Law, a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering from San José State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from NIT Bhopal, India. Nair is also a technology advisor and board member, sharing her expertise on AI adoption, digital transformation, and leadership development.

eSleuth Inc. stands out in the field of law enforcement technology by utilizing advanced AI and machine learning to automate investigative best practices. Their platform is tailored to support real-world casework, enabling investigators to evaluate evidence, identify suspects, uncover cross-case connections, and prioritize investigations effectively. As the company continues to innovate, it aims to empower law enforcement agencies to close more cases and allocate resources where they are needed most.
