Free Thanksgiving Meals Offered Across Boulder County Today
URGENT UPDATE: Free Thanksgiving meals are available across Boulder County today, November 23, 2023, as local organizations come together to celebrate the holiday with community support. Residents can access festive meals at multiple locations from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and beyond.
LONGMONT – The OUR Center at 220 Collyer St. is hosting its annual Thanksgiving lunch, welcoming everyone from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.. This cherished event provides a warm meal and a sense of community for all attendees.
BOULDER – The Second Baptist Church will serve traditional Thanksgiving meals at two locations. The first meal kicks off at 8:30 a.m. at 1212 Canyon Blvd., followed by a second serving at 9 a.m. at 5300 Baseline Road. Guests experiencing homelessness can also receive clothing and essential supplies at both sites, highlighting the church’s commitment to community welfare.
At the Unity of Boulder Spiritual Center, located at 2855 Folsom St., a Thanksgiving community potluck dinner will take place from noon to 4 p.m.. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to share, fostering a collaborative spirit among neighbors.
In LOUISVILLE, warm refreshments, including hot chocolate and coffee, will be available after the Louisville Turkey Trot, set to begin at 9 a.m. near Walnut and Front streets. Proceeds from this event benefit Community Food Share, further supporting local food security efforts.
In NIWOT, the Niwot Community Connection is hosting a Thanksgiving potluck meal from 1 to 4 p.m. at Niwot Hall, 195 Second Ave. Community members are invited to bring dishes to share, enhancing the festive atmosphere.
These gatherings not only provide meals but also foster a sense of belonging and togetherness, especially during this season of gratitude. For those in need, these events are a vital resource, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to enjoy a warm meal and celebrate the holiday spirit.
