Broaddus Burger to Close Congress Street Location on December 21
Broaddus Burger has announced the upcoming closure of its Congress Street location, situated at 4519 W. Congress St., effective December 21, 2023. This decision comes as part of the restaurant’s strategy to regroup before embarking on a new phase of growth.
The Congress Street outlet, which opened just over two years ago, was introduced by owner Shawn Broaddus as a “one-stop burger shop.” The restaurant plans to shift its focus to its current location at 610 E. Kaliste Saloom Road, where it aims to enhance its service offerings and expand its operational hours.
Focus on Growth and New Offerings
In a post announcing the closure, Broaddus emphasized the need to regroup. The restaurant intends to reinstate table-side service, introduce new specials, and rebranding itself as a full-service family restaurant. Additionally, Broaddus will extend its hours on Mondays and Tuesdays and relocate its Saturday brunch buffet to the Kaliste Saloom Road location.
The closure of the Congress Street location marks a significant shift for Broaddus Burger. The space previously accommodated Las Palmitas restaurant and Southside Bakery before Broaddus took over. The decision reflects a broader strategy to streamline operations and focus on customer experience in a more centralized location.
As the restaurant prepares for its new chapter, it will also offer Sunday plate lunches starting this weekend, further diversifying its menu for patrons. Broaddus Burger aims to create an inviting atmosphere while enhancing its culinary offerings to meet the evolving preferences of its customers.
The move has generated interest among regular patrons and the local community, as Broaddus Burger has established itself as a popular dining option since its inception. With the planned changes, the restaurant looks forward to strengthening its position in the local dining scene.
