The Groton Hill Music Center is set to host a series of festive performances this December, offering a diverse range of musical experiences to celebrate the holiday season. From classical to contemporary, the lineup includes genres such as big band, bluegrass, Celtic, folk, and jazz, ensuring there is something for everyone.

Kicking off the holiday festivities, Stephanie J. Block, a Tony Award-winning artist known for her role in “The Cher Show,” will perform on December 6. This event will feature nostalgic holiday songs alongside popular Broadway numbers, providing an enchanting start to the month’s celebrations at the center located at 122 Old Ayer Rd.

On December 7, the American string band Mr. Sun will present their unique interpretation of Duke Ellington’s famed version of Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker Suite.” Following this, the award-winning a cappella group Take 6 will take the stage on December 10 with a performance titled “Spread Love at Christmas.”

The Boston Gay Men’s Chorus, recognized for its dynamic performances that celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, will present its holiday spectacular, HOLIGAYS, on December 21. This much-anticipated show promises an uplifting experience filled with vibrant harmonies and seasonal cheer.

Exciting Performances Throughout December

As part of the holiday season, Groton Hill will also host the Vista Philharmonic Orchestra for a holiday pops experience, featuring five performances from December 11 to December 14. Tickets start at an affordable $30, with Julie LeBlanc, the Music Center’s Assistant Director of Marketing, noting that “families love those performances.”

Other highlights include the Nefesh Mountain Band on December 17, the Groton Hill Big Band performing holiday standards on December 18, and the Irish solstice celebration by Lúnasa on December 19. Renowned jazz singer Jane Monheit will return to the concert hall on December 20, rounding out a month filled with musical diversity.

The Boston Gay Men’s Chorus is particularly excited about their return to Groton Hill, with Ben Arnold, the Chorus’s Marketing and Partnerships Manager, sharing that the venue’s acoustics and design create an ideal atmosphere for celebrating the season. “Whether it’s the shimmer of a familiar carol or the sparkle of a brand-new arrangement, HOLIGAYS will transform the stage into a celebration of togetherness, pride, and holiday cheer,” Arnold stated.

He expressed enthusiasm about the show’s signature blend of heart, humor, and high-energy musical moments, noting that audiences can expect larger-than-life choral numbers, moving stories, and glimmering surprises. “This year’s HOLIGAYS production is packed with everything that will soon make it a cherished tradition for families and friends across the region,” Arnold added.

The Groton Hill Music Center invites the community to join in this celebration of music and togetherness, emphasizing the joy and warmth that live performances bring during the holiday season.
