Google has officially launched its latest artificial intelligence model, Gemini 3, making headlines by providing immediate access to Search users. This unprecedented move allows a wide audience to leverage the new features from day one, marking a significant shift in how Google integrates AI capabilities into its services.

At the core of Gemini 3 is its enhanced ability to understand context and intent behind user requests, a challenge that has often hindered previous AI models. Google asserts that Gemini 3 can “learn anything” and “build anything,” positioning it as a versatile tool for various applications.

Among its innovative features, Gemini 3 can translate handwritten recipes into a shareable family cookbook, allowing users to preserve culinary traditions seamlessly. For those eager to expand their knowledge, the model can process academic papers and lengthy video lectures, generating interactive flashcards, visualizations, and other formats that facilitate learning. Additionally, sports enthusiasts can benefit from its ability to analyze videos of their pickleball matches, pinpointing areas for improvement and creating tailored training plans.

New Features and Developer Benefits

Gemini 3 also introduces an AI Mode in Search, enabling users to experience new generative user interface designs, including “immersive visual layouts” and “interactive tools and simulations.” These enhancements promise to deliver results that are finely tuned to individual queries.

Developers stand to gain significantly from the advances Gemini 3 brings to the table. According to Google, the model achieved top scores on the WebDev Arena leaderboard with an Elo rating of 1487, and it scored 54.2% on Terminal-Bench 2.0. It also outperformed Gemini 2.5 Pro on the SWE-bench Verified, achieving a score of 76.2%. This makes Gemini 3 a more resourceful ally for building websites, games, or applications compared to its predecessors. Developers can access Gemini 3 through AI Studio starting today.

Another notable feature is the Gemini Agent, which facilitates multi-step tasks directly within the model. This function connects to various Google applications, managing tasks such as calendar events and emails. For example, users can request Gemini to “Research and help me book a mid-size SUV for my trip next week under $80/day using details from my email.” The AI will then locate the relevant email with flight information, compare rental options within the specified budget, and prepare the booking for user review. Initially, this feature will be available to Google AI Ultra subscribers, starting today.

For those interested in using Gemini 3, it is now available through the Gemini app. Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers can also access it in AI Mode in Search, while developers can explore its capabilities through the Gemini API in AI Studio. This launch not only highlights Google’s commitment to advancing AI technology but also sets a new standard for user accessibility and functionality in artificial intelligence.
