The narrative, which juxtaposed science and magic within the Marvel Universe, failed to explore its potential fully, leaving fans disappointed.

Comic books often recycle ideas, a practice that is common among major publishers. This tendency stems from the challenge of creating entirely original content in a landscape where many stories have already been told. However, when a fresh concept arises, it deserves thorough development. Marvel’s recent storyline provided a prime opportunity for innovation, particularly when Doctor Doom declared himself emperor with the help of Doctor Strange, claiming the title of Sorcerer Supreme.

The truly intriguing aspect of this storyline occurred in issue #7, where Mister Fantastic utilized his scientific expertise to mimic magical abilities and become the Scientist Supreme. Historically, Reed Richards has dismissed magic, viewing it as a science that remains unquantified. In the Marvel Universe, magic and science often conflict, as evidenced by the struggles faced by characters like Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch.

Magic operates under its own set of rules, frequently contradicting the principles of physics and biology. Therefore, Reed mastering magic through scientific means was a challenging premise. Instead of genuinely training in magic or understanding its complexities, he merely replicated what Doom had done.
