Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ Dominates Billboard 200 for Fifth Week
Taylor Swift’s latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, has successfully claimed the top position on the Billboard 200 for an impressive fifth consecutive week. The chart for the week dated Nov. 15, 2025, reveals that the album garnered 120,000 equivalent album units in the United States during the week ending Nov. 6, marking an 18% decline from the previous week, according to data from Luminate.
This achievement places The Life of a Showgirl as only the second album in 2025 to maintain its position at No. 1 for five weeks. It follows Morgan Wallen’s album, I’m the Problem, which spent its initial eight weeks at the top of the chart, accumulating a total of twelve weeks at No. 1. Swift’s previous release, The Tortured Poets Department, dominated the charts for its first twelve weeks in 2024, ultimately achieving a total of seventeen weeks at the top.
Chart Performance and Competitors
Swift’s remarkable record includes three albums that have each led for five weeks or more, starting with Folklore, which ruled the charts for six weeks in 2020. In the latest Billboard 200, Florence + the Machine made a notable entrance with their new album, Everybody Scream, debuting at No. 4. This marks the band’s fifth top 10 effort, earning 56,000 equivalent album units in its first week.
The album’s sales were significantly bolstered by its diverse offerings, including six vinyl variants and four CD versions, which appealed to a wide audience. The lead single from the album has already achieved top 10 status on both the Alternative Airplay and Adult Alternative Airplay charts, further indicating the album’s strong reception.
Meanwhile, Tyler, The Creator’s CHROMAKOPIA experienced a remarkable resurgence, climbing from No. 117 to No. 5 after its one-year anniversary reissue. This reissue, which included CD and vinyl formats as well as deluxe boxed sets, contributed to a staggering 390% increase in equivalent album units, totaling 51,000.
Sales Breakdown and Future Prospects
In terms of sales breakdown for The Life of a Showgirl, the latest tracking week saw 98,000 units coming from streaming, which reflects 129.07 million official streams, maintaining its position as No. 1 on the Top Streaming Albums chart. Additionally, album sales accounted for 18,000 units, while track equivalent albums (TEA) provided another 4,000 units, showing a slight increase of 11%.
The competition at the top remains fierce, with the K-Pop soundtrack Demon Hunters and Wallen’s album remaining steady at No. 2 and 3, respectively. The former earned 84,000 equivalent album units, while Wallen’s album increased to 77,000 units.
As the Billboard 200 continues to reflect the changing landscape of the music industry, it will be interesting to monitor how Swift’s album and its competitors perform in the coming weeks.
