Tom Sandoval, a prominent figure from the reality series Vanderpump Rules, recently expressed his views on his longtime friend and business partner Tom Schwartz. During an exclusive interview at BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas on November 14, Sandoval clarified that Schwartz “wears the pants” off-camera, a statement that adds depth to their friendship dynamic.

While Schwartz is considering joining the spinoff series The Valley, Sandoval believes this opportunity does not overshadow Schwartz’s established identity. “Schwartz has always had his own identity,” Sandoval stated. “It’s really funny that he says that because, you know, behind closed doors, Schwartz definitely wears the pants in a lot of ways.” His comments highlight how their friendship balances Sandoval’s more outspoken personality with Schwartz’s strong mindset.

The two men have been close friends since their early days working together at Lisa Vanderpump‘s restaurant, SUR. Together, they have ventured into the restaurant business, launching two establishments: TomTom and Schwartz & Sandy’s. However, the latter faced challenges, leading to its closure. Sandoval elaborated on this experience, noting, “Dealing with something that’s not doing well, failing, constant pressure and negativity… it definitely wears on your friendship.” Despite these challenges, he confirmed that their relationship has improved since moving past the difficulties.

Schwartz’s recent surprise appearance at the The Valley panel indicated his commitment to carving out his own path. Sandoval expressed his support, stating, “I’m glad that he’s on there and doing his own thing and being himself. He’s got his podcast, he’s got his own voice. It’s great. I love it.”

Looking ahead, Sandoval indicated that he has been contemplating his role on The Valley. “Not currently for this season, I’ve been on the fence about whether I wanted to be on The Valley,” he remarked. He acknowledged that the producers may prefer participants who are fully engaged, saying, “I would be more open to it now, especially with Schwartz and Lala. It would feel more organic.”

Reflecting on life after Vanderpump Rules, Sandoval mentioned the benefits of distance and privacy. He noted, “I’ve been pretty private lately… Me and Victoria have just been enjoying being on our own.” He has been in a relationship with Victoria since 2024 and hinted at future possibilities, quipping, “Who knows?” Victoria joined him at BravoCon, marking her first experience at the fan convention, which Sandoval described as a wonderful way to connect with fans.

Amidst the festivities, Sandoval highlighted the “great energy” at the convention. He and Victoria have reconnected with various friends from the reality TV world, including Schwartz, Teddi Mellencamp, Tamra Judge, and Brittany Cartwright. The interactions exemplify the camaraderie that exists among reality television personalities, further exemplified by the enthusiasm present at this year’s event.

In summary, Tom Sandoval’s insights into his friendship with Tom Schwartz reveal a complex relationship built on mutual respect and support. As Schwartz steps into new opportunities and Sandoval navigates life post-reality TV, their bond remains a central aspect of their journeys.
