Community Mourns the Loss of Douglas Edward Greer at 38

Douglas Edward Greer, a beloved member of the Elizabethton community, passed away on November 18, 2025, at the age of 38. Born on February 2, 1987, in Johnson City, he was well-known for his friendly disposition and love for outdoor activities.

Greer graduated from Gateway Christian Home School and found fulfillment in his work at Central Heat and Air. He was an avid fisherman, swimmer, and enjoyed playing pool. His vibrant spirit and dedication to his family and friends made a lasting impact on those who knew him.

A devoted member of Bramar Baptist Church, Greer is survived by his three children: Emma, Gracie, and Jackson Greer. He leaves behind his parents, Daryl and Lois Lowe Greer, as well as his sister, Anna Lunsford, and her husband, T.J. He is also remembered by his niece, McKinzie Lunsford, and nephew, Tyler Lunsford, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Special friends Ronnie and Zake Thornton will also miss him dearly.

Funeral Services Scheduled for November 26

Greer’s funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. on November 26, 2025, at the Memorial Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Dean Presnell officiating. The community is invited to pay their respects during the visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Following the funeral, interment will occur at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music during the service will be provided by Mike Presnell, adding a personal touch to the proceedings.

Pallbearers for the service will include family members and close friends, including T.J. Lunsford, Jearamy Ward, Jeff Lunsford, and Fred Julian, reflecting the strong bonds Greer fostered throughout his life.
