Hermosa Beach Celebrates Holiday Spirit with Fifth Annual Festival
The annual festival “Hermosa for the Holidays” marked its fifth anniversary last weekend with a vibrant celebration in Hermosa Beach, California. The event, held from November 21 to 23, 2025, also coincided with the 20th anniversary of “Rock for Tots,” a charity initiative aimed at supporting local families during the holiday season.
The festivities kicked off with a visit from Santa Claus, who made his grand entrance at Pier Plaza, where the ceremonial tree lighting took place. Families gathered to enjoy live music, festive activities, and the holiday atmosphere as the community came together to usher in the season.
Local band SMBC – The House Band performed, energizing the crowd with holiday tunes. The event featured several musical acts, including young performers from the band Rad Idea, showcasing local talent and encouraging community participation. Children and adults alike enjoyed the lively performances, adding to the celebratory spirit of the fair.
The festival was not just about entertainment; it also focused on giving back to the community. The “Nonprofit Giving Village” provided a platform for various organizations to connect with attendees. Local businesses participated by opening their doors, while the “Kids Creationz Market” allowed young entrepreneurs, ranging from kindergarten to eighth grade, to showcase their creative products.
In a highlight of the event, the founder of “Rock for Tots,” Jeremy Buck, joined numerous South Bay musicians to raise funds for two worthy causes: the Beach Cities Toy Drive and the Harbor Regional Center Holiday Fund. The initiative has been instrumental in collecting donations for families in need, ensuring that children in the community receive gifts during the festive season.
Families like the Goldmans also contributed to the fair’s vibrant atmosphere. Scott Goldman, along with his nine-year-old grandson Oliver and his father Rich, entertained attendees with their musical performance. The event was enriched by community participation, with locals sharing their talents and joy.
As the evening progressed, children eagerly handed Santa their wish lists, creating memorable moments. Five-year-old Luna Jackson, for example, presented her letter to Santa, capturing the essence of holiday excitement that filled the air.
The event’s success underscores the importance of community involvement during the holiday season. The Hermosa Beach Chamber Foundation, which hosted the event, successfully brought together residents and visitors to celebrate the spirit of giving and togetherness.
As Hermosa Beach continues to embrace holiday traditions, the fifth annual “Hermosa for the Holidays” serves as a reminder of the joy and generosity that characterize this festive time of year. The community looks forward to future celebrations that honor both local culture and the spirit of giving.
