Kristine “Kris” Kreiter O’Connell, aged 69, passed away on February 25, 2026, at the Dougherty House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Her family and friends remember her fondly for her kindness and unwavering spirit. O’Connell will be honored with a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on March 3, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Sioux Falls, followed by burial at St. Michael Cemetery.

Celebrating Kris O’Connell’s Life

Visitation will take place on March 2, 2026, at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls, starting at 5:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to join for a Liturgical Wake Service and The Divine Mercy Chaplet at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to Feeding South Dakota, reflecting O’Connell’s commitment to community service.

The O’Connell family expresses deep gratitude for the love and support shown during this time. Kris is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” O’Connell, and their daughter, Kelly Wagner, along with her husband, Jason Wagner, of Sioux City, Iowa. She leaves behind three grandchildren: Hope, Gabrielle, and Jacob Wagner. Her siblings include Jeff Kreiter and his wife, Jan, in Sioux Falls, and Kim Sheppard and her husband, Stuart, in Bentonville, Arkansas.

A Legacy of Family and Friendship

Kris O’Connell is remembered not only for her family ties but also for her vibrant friendships and community engagement. She was preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Taylor Marie Sheppard, who will also be lovingly remembered.
