Early Voting Ends as County Prepares for Critical Election Day
As early voting concludes this week, Tifton County is preparing for Election Day, set for November 4, 2025. Voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballots for local and state positions, including key races that could influence the regulatory landscape in Georgia.
Key Races on the Ballot
This election features the District 2 and District 3 races for the Georgia Public Service Commission, a crucial body that regulates prices and rates for telecommunications, electrical, and natural gas services in the state. Incumbent Tim Echols is seeking re-election against challenger Alicia Johnson for the District 2 seat. Meanwhile, Fitz Johnson, also an incumbent, will face off against Peter Hubbard for the District 3 position.
While the city council races in Tifton and Ty Ty have candidates running unopposed, Omega presents a different scenario. Posts 2, 3, and 4 on Omega’s City Council feature contested races. For Post 2, incumbent Cecile Gilliard is challenged by Rene Martinez. Post 3 has candidates Rodney Glaze and Ryan Voris competing, while Post 4 sees incumbent Chuck White facing Gwen Robinson.
