Multiple wrestlers from AEW (All Elite Wrestling) will compete for championships in CMLL (Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre) events in Mexico. The announcement came during the CMLL Informa show on Wednesday, revealing significant matches scheduled for the coming weeks.

In a headline matchup, The Beast Mortos is set to challenge Gran Guerrero for the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship. This contest will take place at Arena Mexico on November 23, 2023. Mortos, who returned to Arena Mexico earlier this year after a 14-year absence, has a storied history with the venue. His departure from CMLL to AAA earlier in his career had resulted in a ban from wrestling in that arena.

CMLL’s Wednesday broadcast also announced that Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia from The Death Riders will challenge for the CMLL World Tag Team Championship. The current titleholders, Angel de Oro and Niebla Roja, will defend their titles against the AEW duo. The date for this tag team contest has not yet been disclosed.

The crossover between AEW and CMLL continues to grow. During Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite and Collision broadcast, fans witnessed a significant moment as Mascara Dorada faced Kazuchika Okada in a Double Jeopardy match. This bout was pivotal, as it established a new title match for the upcoming AEW Full Gear Saturday Tailgate Brawl event.

The collaboration between these two wrestling promotions showcases the increasing popularity of professional wrestling as a global entertainment phenomenon. With athletes from different backgrounds and styles competing against each other, fans can expect thrilling matches that highlight the best of both promotions.

As the events draw nearer, wrestling enthusiasts are eager to see how these matchups unfold, particularly the championship contests featuring AEW’s top talent.
