Clements Girls Triumph, Tanner Boys Secure Victory in County Basketball

Clements High School’s girls’ basketball team claimed a decisive victory against Tanner, while the Tanner boys’ team wrapped up the evening with a win over Clements on December 3, 2025. This exciting night of county basketball featured thrilling performances from both teams across different matchups.

Highlights from the Varsity Boys Games

In the boys’ varsity competition, Tanner emerged victorious with an impressive score of 80 to 56 against Clements. Key players included Brayden Walker and Torian Mangruen, both contributing 11 points to the team’s success.

Other notable results from the evening included Athens defeating Grissom by a narrow margin of 46 to 44, with Lakin Barnes leading Athens with 13 points. East Limestone dominated Ardmore with a score of 69 to 39, driven by Lonnie Dunbar’s standout performance of 16 points. West Limestone also secured a solid win over Randolph, finishing 54 to 42, thanks to JT Winter’s remarkable 32 points.

Varsity Girls Results

On the girls’ side, Clements showcased their skills by overwhelming Tanner, finishing the game at 66 to 42. Keymoni Holloway led Clements with an impressive 29 points, supported by Asiah Malone with 15 points and Jakayla Farrar contributing 10 points.

East Limestone also had a successful outing, defeating Ardmore with a score of 49 to 34. Ava Tillery and Kate Hovis each scored 16 points to propel the team. Other results included Grissom’s victory over Athens, finishing 50 to 46, and Whitesburg Christian overcoming Elkmont with a score of 46 to 31.

As the basketball season progresses, these results highlight the competitive spirit and talent present in the county, setting the stage for more exciting matchups in the weeks to come.
