Jeffery Simmons Calls Out Titans After Fifth Straight Loss
The Tennessee Titans are grappling with their fifth consecutive loss after falling to the Houston Texans 16-13 on November 16, 2025. Despite leading at halftime, the Titans struggled offensively, leaving them at the bottom of the league standings. Defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons expressed his frustration with the team’s performance, highlighting the urgent need for improvement.
In a post-game interview, Simmons did not hold back, stating, “Say what we want, but I mean, 3-and-out, 3-and-out, 3-and-out … We gotta be better. I’m tired of sugarcoating it. We need to be better. Especially at home.” This latest defeat extended the Titans’ losing streak at Nissan Stadium to nine games, a concerning statistic given that their last victory at home was on November 3, 2024.
Simmons emphasized that the team is not playing cohesive football, a sentiment echoed by head coach Mike Vrabel. He noted the team’s struggles with penalties, mentioning that they had recorded four false starts during practice leading up to the game. “We shouldn’t have that many false starts,” Simmons remarked, underscoring the team’s lack of discipline.
The Titans’ offense has been underwhelming, managing to score 20 points or less in all but one game this season. The only match where they exceeded this mark resulted in their sole victory. This recent trend raises questions about the team’s ability to compete effectively, especially against lower-ranked opponents like the Texans.
Simmons called for a collective effort to turn the season around, stating, “We’re grown men; everybody has a job. We need to attack this game and attack it every day with a better attitude.” He also pointed out the need for better protection of quarterback Willis Ward, who has been sacked an alarming 41 times this season, including three times in the loss against Houston.
The Titans have two additional home games remaining before facing challenging opponents like Cleveland and San Francisco. Given their current performance, these upcoming matches present critical opportunities for the team to demonstrate resilience and break their losing streak.
As the Titans look ahead, the pressure mounts for both the players and coaching staff to find solutions and restore competitiveness. The frustration expressed by Simmons reflects a deeper concern within the team, as they aim to reestablish themselves in the league and regain the support of their home fans.
