Jonathan Wheatley Discusses Audi’s Ambitious F1 Plans for 2026

Jonathan Wheatley, the recently appointed Team Principal of Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber, has outlined his vision for Audi’s future in Formula One as the team prepares for its much-anticipated entry in 2026. Transitioning from a long tenure at Red Bull Racing, Wheatley brings a wealth of experience to the role, which he sees as a significant opportunity in a rapidly evolving motorsport landscape.

It’s not a cliché,” he remarked, acknowledging how his role has allowed him to explore places he had never imagined visiting.

Wheatley described the beauty of his surroundings, living by a lake with a mountain backdrop, which has enhanced his quality of life. “It’s an incredibly safe, clean country,” he noted, illustrating the positive aspects of his new environment.

As the team gears up for its future, Wheatley is focused on transforming Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber into a competitive force. “We want to be challenging for races and championships at the end of the decade,” he said.
