Arlene Hartman Passes Away at 87, Leaving Lasting Legacy

BREAKING NEWS: Arlene Hartman, a beloved resident of Telford and long-time member of the Sellersville community, has passed away at the age of 87. Her death on November 25, 2025, was confirmed by family members, marking the end of a vibrant life dedicated to family, faith, and community service.

Mrs. Hartman was the devoted wife of the late Glenn Hartman Sr. for an extraordinary 65 years until his passing in 2023. A cherished mother to Barbara A. Nemecek and a beloved sister to Margie Derstine, her legacy lives on through her family and countless friends.

Arlene was not only a dedicated mother and grandmother; she also made significant contributions to her community. An active and faithful member of St. Michael’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sellersville for over 60 years, she took part in numerous church activities, including singing in the choir and volunteering with the Altar Guild. Her leadership as president of the Women’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Association (WELCA) for 25 years showcased her commitment to service and fellowship.

Throughout her life, Arlene worked in various roles, including at the Lutz Pants Factory, Emil’s Diner, and as a consultant for both Mary Kay and Avon. She retired in 1997 after serving as a cashier at Clemens Markets, known for her friendly demeanor and dedication to customer service.

Beyond her professional life, Arlene was passionate about gardening, antiquing, and collecting stamps and first-day covers. She loved traveling, watching the Phillies, and square dancing, which brought joy and camaraderie to her life. Her enthusiasm for capturing memories through photography highlighted her vibrant spirit.

A viewing will take place on December 5, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. at St. Michael’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at 25 E. Church St., Sellersville, PA 18960. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., with a livestream available for those unable to attend in person. Arlene will be laid to rest in Sellersville Cemetery, where her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Arlene’s name to St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, underscoring her lifelong dedication to her faith community.

Arlene Hartman’s passing is not just a loss for her family, but for everyone who was touched by her kindness and spirit. Her memory will live on through the lives she influenced and the love she shared. The community mourns the loss of a remarkable woman whose impact was felt far and wide.
