Belding Superintendent Brent Noskey Achieves 99% Rating in Evaluation
UPDATE: Belding Area Schools Superintendent Brent Noskey has just received an outstanding annual evaluation, achieving a remarkable score of 99% out of 100%. This evaluation was confirmed at a school board meeting on Monday where board members unanimously praised his performance.
Noskey, who has been leading the district for the past 10 years, was assessed across multiple categories including governance, community relations, and instructional leadership. He secured the highest mark of 3 in four of the five categories, reflecting his effective management and strong community connections. Board President Terry Boni expressed confidence in Noskey, stating, “We found Mr. Noskey just as effective as he was before.”
This evaluation comes at a crucial time for Belding Area Schools, as Noskey has successfully navigated various challenges, including a significant enrollment drop from 1,875 students in 2016-17 to 1,652 students in 2024-25, a decline of 12% over nine years. His leadership has ensured the district maintains a strong financial standing, operating with a general fund balance of 15% to 20% of annual expenditures.
In his response to the evaluation, Noskey emphasized the importance of teamwork, stating, “I could not do this job without my administrative team.” His collaborative approach has fostered a positive culture within the district, allowing him to be more visible and engaged with the community.
Boni highlighted the significance of Noskey’s community relations, noting his consistent presence at events and the strong relationships he has built with staff and residents. “His relationship with the staff has really shined,” Boni remarked, underscoring the importance of hiring the right people for the district.
While Noskey’s contract remains unchanged following this evaluation, he currently earns a base salary of $157,725. The board’s consistent support suggests strong confidence in his leadership abilities moving forward.
As Belding Area Schools continues to adapt to changing circumstances, Noskey’s effective leadership will be critical in maintaining the district’s identity and fostering a supportive educational environment. The community remains optimistic about the future under his guidance.
