CIF High School Football Playoffs: Regional Finals Results Announced!
UPDATE: The CIF high school football playoffs are heating up as regional finals results pour in! This weekend’s matchups promise thrilling action as teams vie for coveted state title spots.
In the Open Division, powerhouse De La Salle (12-0) will take on Santa Margarita (10-3) at Saddleback College on Saturday, December 13, at 8 p.m. This high-stakes game is expected to draw a massive crowd, showcasing some of the best talent in California high school football.
The Division 1-AA playoffs saw intense battles on Friday. Folsom edged out Archbishop Riordan with a score of 42-38, while Cathedral Catholic defeated Los Alamitos 42-21. The stage is now set for the state championship game, where Folsom (13-1) will face Cathedral Catholic (11-2) at a yet-to-be-determined time.
In Division 1-A, Central East triumphed over Pittsburg 55-36, while Pacifica-Oxnard prepares to clash with Granite Hills (10-3) on Saturday, December 13, at 7 p.m. The championship showdown will feature Central East (13-1) against either Pacifica-Oxnard (14-0) or Granite Hills, with details pending.
Moving to Division 2-AA, St. Mary’s-Stockton secured a narrow victory over Serra with a score of 31-24, and Bakersfield Christian won against La Habra 24-21. The championship matchup will see St. Mary’s-Stockton (12-2) take on Bakersfield Christian (13-0) at a later date.
In Division 2-A, both Woodcreek-Roseville (12-1) and Sonora (13-0) are set to meet on Saturday, December 13, at 6 p.m. Meanwhile, Rio Hondo Prep advanced with a close win over Santa Fe Christian 26-21. The championship will feature the winner of Woodcreek-Roseville or Sonora against Rio Hondo Prep (15-0).
In Division 3-AA, St. Ignatius narrowly defeated Monte Vista 17-13, while Ventura triumphed over Arroyo Grande 35-28. The championship game will be a face-off between St. Ignatius (8-6) and Ventura (13-2), with timing to be announced.
The Division 3-A regional finals saw McClymonds defeat Roseville 42-34, while Kennedy-Delano edged out Carson 35-33. The championship will feature McClymonds (11-2) against Kennedy-Delano (12-3).
In Division 4-AA, Sutter won against Ferndale 21-7, and Barstow narrowly defeated Immanuel-Reedley 13-12. The title game will see Sutter (13-1) face off against Barstow (11-3).
The Division 4-A championship match will feature the winner of El Cerrito (12-2) or Menlo-Atherton (7-6) against Beckman (12-3), who won against Hillcrest 46-40Division 5-AA, Bishop O’Dowd overcame Chico 23-20, while Christian-El Cajon won against Valley Christian-Cerritos 27-13. The championship match will see Bishop O’Dowd (10-4) take on Christian-El Cajon (8-7).
The action continues in Division 5-A with Calaveras defeating Miramonte 35-7 and Bishop Union winning against South Gate 47-28. Both teams will compete for the championship title.
In Division 6-AA, Lincoln-San Jose beat Gridley 28-20, while Valley Center triumphed over Valley View-Moreno Valley 30-19. Championship details are forthcoming.
Finally, Division 7-AA saw Redding Christian-Palo Cedro defeat Middletown 22-18, and Woodbridge-Irvine won against San Fernando 13-0. The championship will see Redding Christian-Palo Cedro (14-0) compete against Woodbridge-Irvine (7-8).
