URGENT UPDATE: Travel chaos continues to grip the U.S. as flight cancellations surge for the third consecutive day. On Sunday, FlightAware reported over 2,200 flights canceled and more than 7,500 delays, leaving travelers anxious and on edge.

Despite the turmoil, travelers at Fresno Yosemite Airport reported no delays or cancellations, but local travel agents are feeling the pressure. Cathyrn Doty, a vacation planner with Not Your Evil Stepmother’s Vacation Planner, emphasized the urgency: “I monitor cancellations every morning to ensure my clients have the latest updates. It’s crucial to be prepared for sudden changes.”

The situation is especially concerning as millions of Americans are expected to travel for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. AAA spokesman Doug Johnson warned that the busiest travel days will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and the following Sunday. “We anticipate heavy traffic as families take to the skies,” he stated.

With the ongoing government shutdown, experts stress the importance of flexibility during this turbulent travel period. “Delays and cancellations may become more frequent,” they caution, advising travelers to remain adaptable.

As the clock ticks down to Thanksgiving, travelers are urged to stay informed and prepared for potential disruptions. Follow Vince Ybarra on Facebook, X, and Instagram for real-time updates on this developing situation.
