Guy Fieri Hospitalized After Severe Injury on Film Set
BREAKING: Guy Fieri, the beloved Food Network star, is currently wheelchair-bound after suffering a devastating injury on the set of his show, Flavortown Food Fight. The incident occurred when the 57-year-old celebrity chef “slipped down a set of steps,” severely damaging his quad muscle.
Fieri explained to Fox News Digital that the accident took place during filming, leaving him with a torn quad muscle “in half.” Medical professionals were shocked, with one doctor stating that in over 20 years of practice, he had never seen such a severe injury in the “biggest, thickest” part of the leg.
Upon arrival at the hospital, Fieri was rushed into surgery to prevent further damage to his muscle. “You normally tear that muscle at your tendon or the tendon tears off the bone, but this was right in the center of the whole quad muscle and it exploded,” Fieri detailed.
With 125 people on set and ready to film, Fieri and his crew quickly adapted. “We figured out how to pivot through it and to have some creative filming techniques,” he noted. However, this incident has left Fieri reliant on crutches and a wheelchair for mobility, with doctors advising him to stay off his injured leg for the next eight weeks.
During this recovery period, Fieri is eager to begin rehabilitation as soon as possible. “It sucked,” he admitted, describing the injury as a significant setback.
As Thanksgiving approaches, Fieri’s eldest son, Hunter Fieri, is stepping up to take charge of the holiday feast. Hunter humorously texted his father, proclaiming it’s his “time to shine.” Fieri’s youngest son, Ryder, and his nephew, Jules, are also ready to lend a hand in the kitchen. “It’s gonna be me quarterbacking from the wheelchair and telling them what to do,” he shared, noting that they will be cooking for “about 40 people.”
Fieri, who has been married to his wife Lori Fieri since 1995, has a unique parenting philosophy, vowing not to leave an inheritance unless his sons achieve “two degrees.”
As fans and followers rally around Fieri during this challenging time, updates on his recovery and family adventures are sure to attract attention. Stay tuned for more developments on this story as Fieri navigates his recovery and the upcoming holiday season.
