Nas and DJ Premier’s Collab Album Set for December 12 Release
BREAKING: Fans of hip-hop rejoice! The highly anticipated collaboration album from Nas and DJ Premier now has a confirmed release date: December 12. This exciting announcement was made just last night during a live performance in Bristol, England, where DJ Premier electrified the crowd by teasing the project, saying, “How many people are ready for that Nas-Premier album? December 12th, get ready, motherf*ckers.”
This release signifies a monumental moment for fans who have awaited this collaboration for nearly two decades. Nas and DJ Premier first hinted at a full album back in 2006, following their successful partnerships on classic tracks from Nas’ groundbreaking debut, Illmatic. The duo’s previous collaborations include iconic songs like “N.Y. State of Mind” and “Represent,” which set the stage for what many believed would be a legendary album.
Mass Appeal Records, the label behind this initiative, has been actively celebrating New York rap icons with their Legend Has It… series, releasing albums from notable artists such as Big L, De La Soul, and Mobb Deep. However, the Nas-DJ Premier project has remained the crown jewel of this series, leaving fans eagerly speculating about its potential for years.
Until now, updates on this collaboration were sparse, leading many to doubt if it would ever see the light of day. Over the years, Nas has released nine albums, including six with producer Hit-Boy, a collaboration with Damian Marley, and the second Lost Tapes compilation. The long wait has made this project feel like one of those elusive fantasy albums that rarely come to fruition.
Now, the wait is almost over. As the release date approaches, fans are buzzing with excitement and anticipation. This Christmas season, they will finally be able to experience the musical synergy of two of hip-hop’s most iconic figures.
Stay tuned for more updates as we draw closer to the release. With the album dropping less than a month from now, expect the hype to escalate as fans prepare for what promises to be a historic moment in music.
