UPDATE: Nashville residents are urged to prepare for a week of unpredictable weather, as the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a comprehensive forecast detailing a mix of rain, snow, and fog starting today, January 8, 2024.

According to the NWS, the week kicks off with cloudy conditions and temperatures peaking around 45 degrees. As the day progresses, expect a mix of rain and snow showers from noon to 3 PM, followed by rain showers after 3 PM. Increasing cloud cover is also anticipated, setting the stage for a series of weather changes.

Looking ahead, Tuesday brings a 30 percent chance of showers before noon, with a high of 39 degrees. Winds from the north-northwest will blow at 5 to 10 mph, creating a chilly atmosphere. Residents should remain alert for patchy fog late Tuesday night, which will precede a brief period of sunny weather on Wednesday, with highs reaching 49 degrees.

However, the calm will be short-lived. Thursday is forecasted to be mostly cloudy, with a 30 percent chance of snow showers developing overnight. By Friday, the situation intensifies, as the NWS predicts a 60 percent chance of rain alongside cloudy conditions and a high near 44 degrees.

As the weekend approaches, this unsettled weather pattern is likely to persist, with another 30 percent chance of showers on Saturday, maintaining mostly cloudy skies and highs approaching 49 degrees.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed and prepare for rapidly changing conditions throughout the week. With significant weather fluctuations expected, it is crucial to monitor updates from the National Weather Service and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during this unpredictable period.

Stay tuned for further developments as Nashville braces for a week of mixed weather.
