New York Governor Hochul Signs Bill for Holocaust Memorial Today
URGENT UPDATE: New York Governor Kathy Hochul has just signed a groundbreaking bill to establish the state’s first-ever Holocaust memorial at the Empire State Plaza in Albany. This significant legislation was announced today, October 30, 2023, and aims to honor the memories of Holocaust victims and survivors while serving as an educational resource for future generations.
The memorial will provide a comprehensive history of the Holocaust, including powerful survivor testimonies. This vital project is a collaborative effort led by state Senator Patricia Fahy and Assemblymember Gabriella Romero, with support from the Capital District Jewish Holocaust Memorial.
