Palmer Luckey Reveals Urgent “China 27” Strategy for Taiwan

BREAKING: Palmer Luckey, founder of defense startup Anduril, has unveiled an urgent internal strategy called “China 27,” aimed at preparing for a potential Chinese invasion of Taiwan, which he predicts could occur “sometime in 2027.” Speaking on the latest episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Luckey emphasized the critical need for readiness in light of escalating tensions in the region.
Luckey stated, “Anything we are working on needs to be built with the assumption that China is going to move on Taiwan.” His comments come as the geopolitical landscape becomes increasingly precarious, with Taiwan remaining a focal point of contention between the US and China.
He acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding China’s intentions, admitting, “I might be wrong about this… But imagine how stupid I’ll feel if I spend hundreds of millions on a weapon system that isn’t ready in time.” This stark warning underscores the urgency of his message as military analysts scrutinize China’s military expansion and assertiveness in the Asia-Pacific.
In a pointed discussion, Luckey suggested that a full-scale invasion may not be China’s optimal strategy; instead, he believes a blockade could be more likely. “The best way to deter that is for Taiwan to have capabilities that make them a very prickly porcupine,” he explained. He advocates for advanced defense systems, including missiles and sea mining capabilities, to enhance Taiwan’s deterrent posture.
Just weeks ago, Luckey visited Taiwan to deliver critical military supplies, including missiles and weapon systems specifically designed to counter a potential Chinese advance. He articulated a vision for the US military to act as “the world’s gun store,” emphasizing the need for stocked supplies and support for allies.
With the US military undergoing a significant procurement shift, Army Secretary Dan Driscoll recently stated on October 13 that they aim to “disrupt the system that held the Army back for decades” and ensure that emerging companies like Anduril can thrive.
Anduril’s innovations are already making waves, including a recent $642 million contract with the US Marine Corps for anti-drone technology. The company’s valuation surged to $30.5 billion in June, reflecting its growing influence in the defense sector.
Luckey’s comments come at a time when global security dynamics are shifting rapidly. As tensions rise between the US and China, the implications of the “China 27” strategy could have far-reaching consequences, not just for Taiwan, but for international relations as a whole.
