Police Arrest Second Suspect in Norwalk Storage Unit Burglary
UPDATE: Police have just arrested a second suspect in connection with a major burglary at a storage facility in Norwalk, Connecticut, where 89 units were compromised and approximately $23,000 worth of goods, including firearms, were stolen. Colt Meadows, 22, of West Haven, was taken into custody on Tuesday at Stamford Superior Court after a warrant was issued for his arrest, according to officials from the Norwalk Police Department.
The charges against Meadows are serious, including five counts of third-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, alongside multiple counts of theft related to firearms. His bond has been set at $50,000, and he is expected to face arraignment on Wednesday, September 27, 2024.
The investigation began following the burglary reported on July 1, 2024, at the Cubesmart facility located at 162 Bouton St. Norwalk police collaborated with several agencies throughout this complex case. During their efforts, investigators recovered a stolen .357 revolver in Branford, highlighting the seriousness of this crime.
Detectives initially identified Tylon Gardner, 35, of Hamden, as a suspect. He was arrested on September 10 and faces similar charges, including five counts of third-degree burglary. Gardner’s case is still pending in Stamford Superior Court.
