Stephen Curry Set to Make Comeback Friday Against Timberwolves
UPDATE: The Golden State Warriors are gearing up for a major boost as Stephen Curry is expected to return from injury this Friday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr stated, “It’s looking good,” pointing to Curry’s readiness following a thigh contusion that sidelined him for five games.
Curry, who missed the Warriors’ recent three-game road trip, remained in San Francisco for rest and treatment. His aim was to secure full clearance ahead of Wednesday’s practice. Following a successful workout, Curry participated fully in all contact drills and engaged in a six-minute scrimmage without any setbacks, signaling his return is imminent.
Coach Kerr confirmed that Curry is slated to practice again on Thursday, which is a crucial step before receiving the final green light for Friday’s showdown. The Warriors, currently holding a 13-12 record, managed to secure two wins during Curry’s absence, winning their last two road games against Cleveland and Chicago.
While the Warriors celebrated their recent victories, they also showcased a formidable defense, managing to keep four of their last five opponents under 100 points. This defensive prowess has placed them with the third-best defensive rating in the NBA.
In addition to Curry’s anticipated return, the team is hopeful for the comeback of Draymond Green, who has missed the last two games due to a foot sprain. Kerr indicated that Green is expected back for practice on Thursday and could also play against the Timberwolves.
However, not all news is positive; veteran center Al Horford is doubtful for the game as he deals with sciatica. The matchup against the Timberwolves is crucial for the Warriors as they seek to build momentum and improve their position in the league.
As the game approaches, fans and analysts alike will be keeping a close eye on Curry’s performance and the overall impact on the Warriors’ strategy. The anticipated return of their star player could be just what the team needs to turn their season around.
Stay tuned for updates as the Warriors prepare to face the Timberwolves on Friday night!
